Albert Normandin Photography Vancouver, BC Canada | Profile | Biography

Dear friends of splendid photography,

If you’re reading this, then I assume you also share my deep love and respect for the art -nay- the vision that is Albert Normandin’s vast body of work. However, to truly understand the man’s work, we must first understand the man.

Oh, but where to begin?

Are you familiar with Aristophanes’ magnificent work The Lysistrata?
I’m not, but I think it has something to do with women, and I can assure you Albert’s done some wonderful, lyrical, (dare I say fanciful?) shots of women.

And landscapes. He’s done some neat landscapes.

But I digress.

Would it be fair to say that Albert’s varied travels and curious eye intrepidly peeping and peeking into the faces, souls and psyches of the peoples of the world make him the planet’s foremost chronicler?

Probably not. But he has traveled a lot. To places like: Austria, Bhutan, Bolivia, Botswana, Cambodia, Chile, China, Columbia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Germany, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Laos, Malaysia, Malawi, Morocco, Myanmar, Namibia, Netherlands, Peru, Scotland, South Africa, Spain, Tanzania, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe.

He also began his career assisting famed American photographer Jay Maisel, and studied under Ernst Haas and Gregory Heisler.

And he’s based in Vancouver, BC.

I think that about covers it, don’t you?
